Aim: 
To develop introductory knowledge and skills of Draughting and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) related to a particular technical discipline
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the Bachelor of Applied Technology programme to enrol in this course. Restriction: TTEC5211.
Topics include: 

Appropriate selection from following topics
Concepts
CAD systems, drawing office practice, relevant drawing standards, storage and recording systems
Draughting practice
different views and projections Orthographic (1st angle and 3rd angle), pictorial projection (oblique and isometric), sectional views, auxiliary projection
Dimensioning - principles of dimensioning
Production of working drawings
including projections, perspectives, and views appropriate to a discipline
Advanced CAD applications
Introduction to knowledge and skills appropriate to a discipline, Eg
3-D and solid modelling software and applications
Drawings for parts, details, sections, and assembly drawings
