What is available to support me?

We have a number of spaces and support available to our Māori tauira (students).

Maia

Is a dedicated space for Māori tauira to study, use the computers, and from time to time enjoy some shared kai (food).  

Our Māori Learning Advisors team work out of this space, and when not in appointments, can provide you with academic support. For more information, visit the Learning Advisors page.

Puukenga

Puukenga is one of the three main buildings housed on our marae, Te Noho Kotahitanga. There you will find classrooms, a computer suite, a study space for students and a kitchen you can use. Our friendly staff are always available for a kupu ti (cup of tea) and kōrero (chat).

Whānau room - Waitākere

We have a dedicated whānau room on our Waitākere campus. This room has been set aside for Māori students to be able to study, all other students are welcome to study here but must respect the kaupapa (purpose) of the room.
