As a Unitec student you can complete part of your degree overseas without increasing the length of your degree and still pay your normal Unitec tuition fees.

The Cost
All of our past exchange students agree - it is worth it!
- Because we have reciprocal exchange agreements, the tuition fees for the partner institution are covered by Unitec. In some cases, living expenses in your host country will be higher than in New Zealand.
- Most exchange students live on campus, otherwise some of our partner institutions can help you find accommodation before you arrive.
- You are still eligible to receive normal loans and allowances, as long as you inform Study Link of your change of circumstances and complete the appropriate paperwork.
Criteria for Acceptance
- Be enrolled in a full-time Unitec degree programme
- Have at least a B grade average
- Be at an appropriate level of study as determined by your school
- Demonstrate a high standard of spoken and written English
- Demonstrate that you will be a good ambassador for Unitec and New Zealand
- Open to Domestic and International Students
As places are highly sort after, we cannot guarantee you a place on the programme. Unitec reserves the right to refuse any applicant to the programme.
Unitec Partner Institutions
- We have numerous exchange agreements with quality institutions throughout the world.
- Not all Unitec programmes are offered at every institution, so you will need to look at their websites to see if they offer courses that will be suitable for your degree.
- Many of our partner institutions in countries with a different language also offer courses in English.
- Please do not contact these institutions directly as all enquiries must go through the Student Exchange Office.
