
Samoan Language Week
From Monday 28th May to Friday 1st June, people across Auckland will be celebrating Samoan language week.
Unitec will kick start its celebrations by holding a Ava ceremony at the Samoa fale to officiating a week of fa'asamoa and it's language, food and customs.
The week features a traditional wear day, fiafia (entertainment) day, a view of the history of Samoa and a day of Kilikiti (Samoan cricket). The finale is commemorating Samoan independence day with a dawntop service and a Samoan lunch.

- Opening Ava Ceremony - Monday 28th May
- Lavalava day - Tuesday 29th May
- Samoan history day - Wednesday 30th May
- Fiafia day - Thursday 31st May
- Samoan flag day - Friday 1st June
