
Auditions and Interviews
Dates for interviews/auditions for study in 2013
Certificate in Communication and Media Arts (Performing Arts Pathway)
Interviews will determine the best pathway for each applicant. Portfolio material demonstrating previous involvement you might have had with screen or performance-related media will be relevant to your application. Please bring it along and be prepared to leave a copy with the interview panel.
Interviews – Thursday 8th November & Thursday 6th December
Announcement of successful candidates will follow each interview as needed.
Music Programmes
Applicants will be required to provide an example of their own music or music-making on tape, CD, video or DVD (this does not need to be a high-quality recording) and/or demonstrate their musical abilities during their audition/interview.
Certificate in Music (Introductory)
Interviews will be by appointment during Late November and Early December. Announcement of successful candidates will follow each interview as needed.
Diploma in Contemporary Music
Interviews will be by appointment during Late November and Early December. Announcement of successful candidates will follow each interview as needed.
Performing & Screen Arts Programmes
All interviews/auditions will take place in October 2012.
Please apply early as we will only interview those who have successfully applied.
Acting
The audition will consist of a combination of demonstrations and exercises requiring the applicant to demonstrate their ability to carry out specific tasks individually and as part of a group. The exact nature of the tasks involved will be related to the major of the degree into which the applicant is seeking entry, and will be notified to applicants at least 14 working days prior to the audition.
Applications for Acting are now closed for the 2013 intake.

Screen Arts (Camera, Directing, Editing, Production, Scriptwriting, Sound)
The interview will consist of an interview and a written exercise requiring the applicant to demonstrate their readiness to participate in the programme. Portfolio material demonstrating previous involvement you might have had with screen or performance-related media will be relevant to your application. Please bring it along and be prepared to leave a copy with the interview panel.
Interviews (Auckland only) - Tuesday 9th October & Friday 9th November.
Announcement of successful candidates – Monday 15th October or Monday 12th November.
Production Design and Management (Lights/Sound/Stage Management, Costume, Props/Scenic Art/Art Department)
The interview will consist of an interview and a written exercise requiring the applicant to demonstrate their readiness to participate in the programme. Portfolio material demonstrating previous involvement you might have had with screen or performance-related media will be relevant to your application. Please bring it along and be prepared to leave a copy with the interview panel.
Interviews (Auckland only)- Friday 12th October & Friday 9th November.
Announcement of successful candidates – Monday 15th October or Monday 12th November.
Dance

Auditions (Auckland only) - Labour Weekend - Sat 20th, Sun 21st & Mon 22nd Oct.
You will need to keep these dates free if you are lucky enough to be called back for the second or third day of auditions.
Applicants will be advised of a place on the programme for 2013 within the week following the audition weekend.
Graduate Diploma in Creative Practice
Interviews will be by appointment as required.
