Contemporary Craft
Focusing on the design and production of contemporary objects, the Three Dimensional major offers two specialist pathways to choose from: object and jewellery.
Many students who take the object pathway are interested in furniture, but project work also includes ceramics, lighting and decorative objects. While aesthetic concerns are essential, you'll also be required to address issues of functionality and commercial viability. Extensive workshop facilities ensure that you will gain a sound understanding of a wide range of materials and manufacturing processes.
The jewellery pathway focuses on the design and production of contemporary body adornment. We do teach traditional jewellery making techniques, but you'll also be encouraged to explore a wide variety of alternative materials and processes. Our graduates are considered to be amongst the leaders in their field.
