Want to explore the exciting and ever-changing world of photography and media arts in just two years? As a diploma student, you’ll be enrolled in the Bachelor of Design and Visual Arts (Photography and Media Arts). Diploma graduates enter the industry in such diverse fields as freelance photographers, photographers’ assistants and in service industry employment.
In the first year, you’ll work alongside other photography students. Then, in the second year, you’ll be given the option of continuing through to the third year of the degree, or finishing your studies and receiving this exit award. And the great news is – you can come back at any time to finish off the third year of the Bachelor of Design and Visual Arts.
Highlights
- A sound overview of photography and related media: navigate the diverse range of photographic practices within analogue and digital frameworks and learn how to effectively operate in the studio and on location using different equipment. Control and utilise images through professional software applications, such as Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom.
- Access to an extensive suite of film and digital cameras, darkrooms, digital labs and photography studios that are fully equipped to industry standards.
- Professional work experience, studio visits and field trips.
- Collaborative approach: to help foster your creativity, you’ll work alongside other art and design students.
