Programme Outline

The National Certificate in Computing (Level 3) will provide students with knowledge and skills in computer hardware, software, word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and file
management.

The emphasis is on the practical application of technology in the workplace.

The programme will allow students to:

  • Gain skills and knowledge that are directly relevant to working or further training in the computing sector.
  • Develop work habits and practice appropriate for further training and employment in the computing sector.

  • Desktop publishing
  • Presentation Software
  • Written Communication
  • Networks
  • Information and communications technology
  • Interactive multimedia

Career Opportunities

At the successful completion of this programme, students will have the required skills to enter further computing study, or to apply for an entry level job in the computing or IT industry.

Entry Requirements

This free programme is available for NZ citizens and permanent residents. Basic literacy, numeracy and language skills and an interest in using computers in the workplace and/or at home are the minimum entry requirements.
