Programme summary

Students learn to assemble, service, configure and install operating systems in a computer and the basic concepts of Local Area Networks, trouble shooting, and installing operating systems. The Programme also includes the fundamentals of wireless networking components, modes and standards.

Career Opportunities

Graduates will be able to apply knowledge and skills in assembling, troubleshooting and repairing personal computer systems. Additionally they will acquire the knowledge and skills required to install, maintain and upgrade software and computer networks. This may also serve as a path to further study at Diploma Level 5 or 6.

Entry Requirements

This programme is available for NZ citizens and permanent residents. Basic literacy, numeracy and language skills and a keen interest in servicing computers and computer networks are the minimum entry requirements.
