Architecture and Landscape Architecture facilities
As an architecture or landscape architecture student you have access to a range of sophisticated technological resources, which help you put the theory learned in lectures into practice. Of course, our drawing studios are still equipped with good old-fashioned drawing boards.
You can also use other state-of-the-art Unitec facilities, including a photography studio, a film and TV unit for final compositing work, high-end animation and multimedia tools and top-of-the-line video and digital cameras. And thanks to our laser-cutter/engraver, you can cut a range of materials (acrylic (perspex), cardboard, MDF, wood, plastics) to fabricate and contour models of buildings and sites, and create sculptural and experimental projects.
We regularly upgrade our software to give you the latest versions, including the latest in CAD, graphics, animation and video editing software. Our fully featured CAD lab reflects the increasing importance of CAD design for landscape architecture students. And $60,000 worth of printing gear allows you to present your work to a professional standard.
The powerful 70-station 'render farm' processes your animation work without requiring you to monitor its progress - saving you time to get on with the real creative process.
Wireless technology is also available, giving you the freedom to work and present in new ways.
