Aim: 
To gain understanding of the fundamentals of the New Zealand electricity supply system and devices used to ensure the safety and protection of users and installations.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Engineering programme to enrol in this course.
Topics include: 


Electrical protection for people and property Electricity generation, transmission and distribution in New Zealand Line and phase voltages Mains fuse protection Multiple electricity supply
Power factors Safety protocols for electricity applications Special electrical installations Temporary supply Three-phase alternating current Transformers
