Aim: 
To acquire fundamental operational and theoretical knowledge of electrical work practices.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Engineering programme to enrol in this course.
Topics include: 


First Aid and CPR in the work place Electrical Health & Safety practices and procedures Employment rights Literacy and Numeracy Communication skills ? with stakeholders, managers, clients, peers, etc.. Hazard identification
Introduction to legislation, standards, and codes of practice governing electrical workers Introduction to testing Professional work practices and standards Regulations for supervision and apprentices Self-development, ethics and professionalism
