Aim: 
To enable students to gain an understanding of general mathematical principles and equip them with appropriate engineering mathematical skills to solve engineering problems.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) programme to enrol in this course.
Topics include: 

1. Graphs and trigonometric waves
2. Algebraic expressions and equations
3. Complex number forms, expressions, and equations
4. Logarithms & exponentials
5. Trigonometry
6. Matrices and simultaneous equations
7. Differentiation and integration techniques in an engineering context
8. Differential equation techniques in an engineering context
