Aim: 
To critically assesses the quality of research underpinned by a variety of research methodologies, with a particular focus upon action research.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) programme to enrol in this course. Pre-requisites: (EDUC5911, 5912, 5913, 5914, 5915, 5905 & (5916 or (EDUC5919 & 5519)).
Topics include:

Overview of research for early childhood teachers
Examination of a range of research methodologies underpinning early childhood research activities
Overview of Kaupapa Maori research
Assessment of quality in early childhood research
Analysis of data collection process in research
Introduction of literature review in research
Examination of the characteristics and processes of action research
