Aim: 
To develop students’ knowledge of biological processes and concepts, and their interaction with each other and the environment.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation programme to enrol in this course.
Topics include: 

This course has been designed to develop students? knowledge of biological processes and concepts, and their interaction with each other and the environment
As such, the following topics will be addressed in this course
1. Biochemistry
2. Cell Biology 3. Anatomy and Physiology A (Human/Health focus) 4. Anatomy and Physiology B (Animal/Environment focus) 5. Genetics (Nursing only)
6. Ecology and the Environment (HNS only) NB
The course will be written in modules
Four modules will be delivered per course eg, for Nursing pathway (Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Anatomy, Physiology A and Genetics)
