Aim: 
To enable students to analyse and evaluate a range of specialised principles and applications in the management of vehicle engines
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the Bachelor of Applied Technology programme to enrol in this course. Restrictions: TTEC6310 and TTEC6314.
Topics include: 

Appropriate selection from following topics
Fuel systems
Fuel systems principles, operational characteristics, limitations
Mechanical and electronic, fuel delivery, key components, sequential and grouped systems,
diagnostic equipment, data interpretations, closed and open loop, reformatting of system
Aftermarket injection systems, gasoline direct injection systems, design, circuits and auxiliary devices, electronic control, multiple carburettors, limitations, venturi effect, analysis and correction procedures
Ignition systems
Fuel systems principles, operational characteristics, limitations
Historical developments, operation, contact point electronic, computer controlled engine management
Pressure charging
Superchargers, turbochargers, pressure control, system componentry, service procedures, effect on engine and components, nitrous oxide system, ignition parameters
