Aim: 
To enable students to acquire a wide range of basic skills, knowledge and practices for acting and to identify personal areas of creative development. The focus of this course is to enable students to continue to develop their capability in voice and movement.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: 
Students must be admitted to the Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts programme to enrol in this course. Pre-requisites: PASA5215 and PASA5211.
Topics include: 

Basic anatomy Character development techniques Communicate a character's ideas and intentions Development of actor's work
Film techniques Free, clear, resonant and unconstricted sound in speech Improvisation Live acting techniques
Movement Fundamentals
Movement technologies Musicality, co-ordination, presence, focus and spatial and kinaesthetic awareness Performance technologies
Physical dexterity Phonetics Reading out loud
Relationship with the audience Screen acting techniques Stage movement techniques Text analysis
Theatre language Use of the space Voice production and singing
Learning and teaching approaches
Topics may be taught in an integrated manner in both practical workshop and collaborative learning environments
Activities include self-directed learning, individual and class exercises, work in groups, guest lectures & on-line blog/journal
