A green oasis not far from the city
Our Mt Albert campus is a 55-hectare oasis of trees, lawns and gardens - just 10 minutes from Auckland's central business district. We have been teaching students here since 1976, and the programmes offered at the Mt Albert campus now range from engineering and trades to architecture, business and design to health, natural sciences and sport.
It is one of the greenest places in Auckland, and home to the Wairaka Stream and numerous pukeko. There is plenty of parking, and it is just a short walk to the nearest bus stop or the Mt Albert train station. You can use the free shuttle bus to get across campus. If you don't want to commute, you can even choose to live at the Unitec Residential Village, right here on campus.
The Hub is the vibrant centre of campus life - a great place to meet friends, use the computer lab to do assignments or catch up on your readings in the main library. When you need a break, you can enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the six cafes on campus or walk to the nearby Pt Chevalier shops.
Great facilities to enhance student life
Unitec's teaching spaces range from inspiring historic buildings that were built in the 1850s to modern lecture theatres and labs. Some of our buildings even won awards for their outstanding architecture.
After a busy day studying, you can work out at the gym or have a game at the National Squash Centre, and if you have any aches or pains you can get treatment at the health centre and osteopathy clinic. If you feel like a dose of culture, there are three galleries and a theatre, showcasing the latest exhibitions and shows by our talented design and performing arts students.
