Profile

Ravi Bhat teaches mainly in the areas of marketing, management and strategy. He obtained his MBA from New York and was employed for many years with Multinationals in New York, in the area of international marketing and finance. He has also worked as a director with various export firms in India and New Zealand. Ravi's area of research interests include: Market Orientation & Entrepreneurial orientation in knowledge based sectors, Global & Regional Differences in Business Culture and Values; International Branding Strategies and adding value to NZ Commodity Exports; Services Marketing & Franchising; Co-operative Learning;. Ravi has published in several journals, and in over twenty refereed conference proceedings in the last three years, besides research projects, including one for Microsoft, in New Zealand.

Ravi consults with NZ businesses that require new market development internationally for both products and professional services. He is also involved with firms that need to enter into the NZ market. Ravi is the Vice-Chairman of Migrant Support Services (MSS) a non-profit organisation that encourages entrepreneurship and provides various services to new migrants to NZ. He has been  a member of the Export Institute and of The ASEAN New Zealand Business Council. He was also a member of a Ministerial, New Zealand Trade delegation to India, led by Lockwood Smith.
