If you're new to CAD, this is the course for you. Discover the basics of Revit Architecture, from schematic design to construction documentation. Explore building information modelling concepts, as well as the tools for parametric building design and documentation.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the benefits of Building Information Modelling
- Use the fundamental features of Revit Architecture 2011 - 2012
- Use the parametric 3D design tools to design projects
- Create detailing and drafting views
- Create construction documentation
- Use the presentation tools for presenting models.
Pre-requisites
While no previous CAD experience is necessary, architectural design, drafting, or engineering experience is highly recommended. It is also suggested that you have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows 2000.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a formal certificate from the Autodesk Training Centre in Singapore.
Fees: $690.00 (incl GST), or $450.00 (incl GST) for students currently enrolled in a programme at Unitec. The above fee(s) include the cost of manual and digital examples that you can take away with you.

Revit Architecture - Intermediate Level 2
Building on the concepts introduced in Revit Architecture Essentials Level I, this intensive 18-hour course will teach you about site design, advanced rendering techniques, phasing and design options, creating families of custom components, and collaborating on a design. This course offers metric hands-on exercises representing real-world design scenarios and is taught by experienced professionals from the architectural industry.
After completing this course you will be able to:
- Create complex designs and professional-looking renderings
- Create conceptual designs
- Customise and create objects
- Collaborate on designs with other team members using Revit Architecture 2011 - 2012
Pre-requisites
It is recommended you should have completed Revit Architecture 2011 Essentials or have equivalent experience using Revit Architecture, and have a working knowledge of Architectural design, drafting, or structural engineering, as well as Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows 2000.

All the above Autodesk short courses are available at Unitec's Department of Construction (Building 114), Mt Albert Campus, Entry 4, Carrington Road.
Enrolment information
Please complete a Short Course Enrolment Form, providing your full details and the code of the class you wish to attend. You can download an enrolment form from our website, call freephone 0800 10 95 10, or pick one up from Student Central.
If you have not attended Unitec before, you will need to provide a verified true copy of your passport or NZ Birth Certificate. This can be signed by a Justice of the Peace or a solicitor. Alternatively, you can bring your original documentation to Student Central at any Unitec campus to enable documents to be copied and verified. As places are limited, it is recommended you apply early. Applications will be accepted up until seven days prior to classes commencing. If insufficient numbers are registered for a course, Unitec reserves the right to postpone or cancel. If classes are cancelled, your fee will be refunded in full.
All fees quoted include GST. Payment can be made by EFTPOS, cheque or credit card. Please return your completed enrolment form, together with your payment, to:
