On behalf of Unitec New Zealand, I’m pleased to present GEM New Zealand 2003/2004 - an important annual measure of the enterprising activities of entrepreneurial individuals and firms throughout New Zealand.

Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) is a not-for-profit research project carried out by over 20 authors and researchers at the Unitec New Zealand Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE).

Our goal is to make high quality research on entrepreneurial activity available to as wide an audience as possible.

To fulfil this aim we need substantial amounts of funding. We depend upon financial contributions from the private and public sectors to finance the GEM research. The average national GEM budget is around NZ$200,000 per year.

We believe that Unitec New Zealand’s investment in this research is an investment in the growth of New Zealand as a whole and are proud to put our institutional strength behind this research.

Investing in this research lifts the overall growth prospects of our country.

We are looking for others who share this dream.
