We are running a Employment Seminar for our International Students - run by a International Unitec Graduate!  Come along to hear how to find a job and employment tips from someone who has been there!  No need to register - just come along!

We are running a series of FREE career workshops at the Mt Albert campus in May.  The 1 hour workshops are open to current students and graduates of Unitec. ALL sessions will run from 12 - 1pm.

Interview Skills – Develop your confidence for job interviews through practice.

Preparing a CV and Cover Letter – Learn the fundamentals of constructing professional CVs and cover letters.

Planning your Career – be in control of your career by evaluating your interests, experience and the market, and setting goals accordingly.  Interactive tools will be introduced in this session.

Job Search Techniques – Become a smart job seeker.  Learn how to research opportunities in your field and how to access the hidden job market. 

Professional Networking – Learn how networking can help identify career opportunities and how to put this into practice.

Understanding your Personality – Find out what personality type has to do with career choice.  Myers-Briggs Assessments will be introduced in this session.

Careers for a Sustainable World – Learn about how you can find work that combines what you love to do with making a positive difference in the world we live in.

Job Search using Social Media – Are you up with the play?  Learn how LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and other sites can potentially help you to find a job. 

Identifying your Skills and Strengths – discover ways of understanding your personal strengths better, as well as skills you have acquired.  These are essential to knowing yourself well.

 

Speed Networking Event - for current business students

The Unitec Business School and the Career Centre are running a speed networking event for current business students on Wed 22 May. This is a chance for you to: get valuable career advice, listen to insights from guest speakers (including speakers from BNZ and Goodman Fielder) and build relationships with prospective employers.  

How to register... send an email to career@unitec.ac.nz with your name, programme and ID number.  Or ring 09 815 4321 ext 7756.  This event is open to ALL current business students at Unitec.

Job opportunities with IBM!

Information for current students:

IBM is currently looking for more students to work in their Delivery Centre on the Mt Albert campus.  At the moment they are recruiting Customer Service Representatives to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.  These roles are great for students with have great communication skills, have a clear speaking voice, and are able to problem solve.  You can only apply for these roles through the Student Job Search site (only Unitec students are eligible).  Click here to access the Student Job Search website.
